This is an iPhone app written by Bill Atkinson, legendary figure from the humble years of Apple. He was responsible for many of the graphic user interface concepts that we are using today. His contribution includes the “drop down menu” and also the “running ants” for a selected area.
So what’s so great about this e-card app is that you can also send REAL GREETING CARDS TOO ! for a fee of course.

I’ll wonder how the guests would react if I wear one of these for my wedding shoots. Or to step it up a notch, how about my whole team of photographers and videographers transiting to this camera instead !
Of yes it is waterproof and the benefit is generally fishes are less judgmental about how dorky you look wearing them.

Leicas are to cameras what Harley Davidson are to motorcycles, the are immediately recognizable when you see one. Of course I’ll argue that the Leica is made for the more refined gentleman although they are many that like to dress up their Leica in leather as well. The latest update includes a full frame sensor and also better high ISO performance.

Red is the Color of China.

November 27, 2009

I came across these “behind the scene” photos of me in action when I was rounding up the best shots of the year. Beijing turned THE SHOOT OF THE YEAR.

0001 I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Everything, from getting getting conned into paying 3 times the “local price” for a snack to eating the ridiculously fatty beijing duck at “Ta Tong”.

I have to admit, Beijing never appealed to me before this trip, I was more of a Japan type of guy but now I’m a believer.

Climbing the Great Wall with my dad allowed us some quality father to son time. Shivering in the cold, staring into the wilderness from the tower of the Great Wall also brought me back to my Chinese roots. You can just imagine the lone guard of the ancient doing just the same, keeping watch over China. Staring in to the unknown, where the “Barbarians” are, not knowing when horde is going to appear over the mountain and present their threat.

There is so much I can talk about Beijing, definitely another trip there for a shoot and holiday is in store.

A Beijing pre wedding shoot anyone ?

Kiss the Frog!

November 26, 2009

This isn’t exactly like the fairytale where the princess kissed the frog and it turn into a prince but the bridesmaids did made the best man kiss the frog during the gate crashing ! How’s the feeling ? Slimey, I would say. Eeeew!

Fun and funny is how I would like to describe Chris and Joanna’s wedding. Firstly, there was a game mistress with rabbit ears, then of course kissing the frog scene, the classic roll-the-egg-under-the-tight-pants-with-the-mouth game and the mother who wanted her son-in-law to give her a kiss like how he kisses her daughter. There were just non-stop laughters and fun to accompany for the entire day.

I am glad I was part of their wedding.

Delightfully,
Lawrence

Dominic and Pauline

November 12, 2009

Ah! The bride who woke up late. Oops! I spilled the beans. Hee…

And the groom who broke up rashes due to wedding anxiety. Double oops!! :p

I don’t think Dominic and Pauline is going to hunt me down for letting the cat out of the bag. They are such a sweet couple! Just look at their sweet smiles. Perfect sweet match. The wedding was pretty eventful, but I shall not reveal anymore. Haha! Let’s keep it between Dominic, Pauline, Serene, myself and our dear Eugene. I hope not that he will be traumatized by the incident.

Anyway, small small Singapore. Dominic happens to be Sabrina’s secondary school classmate and their weddings are just barely a week apart. I tried coordinating both couples to come down on the same day to collect their photos but failed. Nevertheless, there will be a next time! We shall have a small gathering and feast and drink (beer)!

Delightfullly,
Lawrence

Jason and Sabrina

November 12, 2009

Polka dots balloons, provocative games, tongue kissing, flashing button badges, retro-dance-march-in and very happening mum! Speaking of creativity, I bet no other couples come close to Jason and Sabrina’s wedding. I enjoyed myself immensely while capturing their photos.

Mum asked Sabrina, “Is Lawrence your friend? He kept smiling and giggling throughout the whole wedding day.”

Yup. Whoever was there at their wedding will feel the way as me. :)

Delightfully,
Lawrence

Kenny and Tania are more than my client. They are my friends and we came to know each other since they came to look for me to do their couple portraiture. Then they came back to me again for their wedding but I wasn’t available. Rueyloon took their wedding instead. Now they are back for their maternity. Soon it will be for the baby photos. And wedding anniversary. And more baby photos. Haha!

Tania, can’t wait to see your baby Wong to come into this world. :)

Delightfully,
Lawrence
