There are not too many weddings that I’ll end up having a whisky with the couple at the end of the night. Chilling out and having a party… I do that at most wedding, but to have a whisky and just lie back and relax, I only do so at the special ones. These are weddings where every element comes together. I don’t read the stars, but I’m sure somewhere out in the mysteries of space the stars are aligned. Of course, it has to be a wedding where I’m very confidant of what I’ve achieved as well to kick back in this way.
This is the wedding of Suan Jin and Rachel, we went to Beijing earlier this year to have their pre-wedding photos taken. Now it’s back to Singapore for their wedding day. They are 2 seemingly different people, as Suan Jin said himself, they even have different accents. Suan Jin is in banking and finance while Rachel works with NGO. (teaching forest tribes how to find alternative source of income, working with governments on policies of birth controls…… you know, that kind of stuff)
Rachel’s wacky aunty, and her wackier friend are memories I take with me from this wedding. There are not too many weddings that the official photographer gets told “excuse me, you are blocking me !” :p
So at the end of the shoot, with just 7 hours in between before I need to catch my early flight to Japan, I went over to Alley Bar to have my whisky with Suan Jin and Rachel. Like I said…… only for the special ones

Ahhhh! Our Beijing bridal images are finally up. My eyes almost went crossed looking through the massive collection and shortlisting the really nice ones. In fact, they are so many nice ones that made my task even more tedious, but I wasn’t complaining cos I’m very pleased with the outcome.
Really have to thank Suan Jin and Rachel for being a great host when we were in Beijing. The trip was an eye-opener for both Rueyloon and myself. =)
We are definitely going back to Beijing. Check out here! Did I mention that we are going Sydney too?

THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR !!
The biggest wedding so far for me this year. This young couple came to see me early this year, being friends of Lawrence, naturally they wanted him to be their photographer but unfortunately Lawrence was already book so (fortunately for me) I got to be their photographer.
Wonderful couple, great setting and good looking friends !! All the elements you need for a great wedding shoot. Not to mention free flow of whiskey to keep the photographer around long after midnight.
What I liked about this wedding is that even with the 2 wedding planners, 2 photographers, 2 videographers, Instantprint, Daniel Ong as the DJ etc etc… With all these productions going on, it is still just about them, the two of them. In the midst of all the bangs and the whistles, it is just about Kenny and Tania, the intimate moments of two person starting their journey together.

It is great to be back for another wedding with the Tan family.
It was just a few years ago when I shot Selena’s wedding and now it is her little sister, Jessica’s turn.
Familiar faces, familiar locations makes for a great shoot. The wedding ceremony at White Rabbit was especially beautiful. From the tiled floor to the stained glass windows to the motif of characters from Alice in Wonderland.
I love how the setting, location and atmosphere fit in so well with their personalities. Everything is bright, cheery and ….. Happy. I think that being most important, being happy with yourself as well as for the people around you.
It is a gift and a wonderful blessing when your joy is shared by the people around you and even more so when their joy is derived from you.

September was a lovely time. I spent my birthday on the way to Australia on the A380
The big bird was a good plane to fly in. The seats are rather cramped, but the aircraft is very stable, you can’t hardly feel the acceleration, the take off nor the landing.
Ah, it’s great to be back in Sydney again.
The first week was lovely, bright sunny and blue skies, enjoying the last days of the winter. Bundled up to keep warm and walking the streets to see the sights and scout for good locations. Kim was with me, so it was sorta like a 2nd honeymoon except I was in working mode, hence I was constantly thinking about the shoot and how to make it exceptional.
I had my lovely couple Kelvin and Selena for the shoot in Sydney.

Ah, it’s back to Singapore after 2 weeks in Sydney. Greeting me back in Singapore is the Wedding of Victor and Melina. Nothing can go wrong with a westie in a wedding, maybe I’m biased here since I had my own westie Rufus at my wedding too
It was quite a surprise when Victor and Melina popped over at the studio months ago with Snowbelle, she is the most docile westie I’ve ever seen, very different from the typically excitable westies. It must have been our love for westies as I felt very comfortable with them immediately. We probably spent more time talking about dogs then about the photography. On the wedding day we started with the usual of the bride and then a lovely church service in the afternoon. As my friend Ben would say it (about fetching the bride), “it’s gonna be horrible, but that’s what memories are made of !”
